What To Bring

If you have your own fishing rod, bring it. If not we have rental rods available.

A cooler with ice, especially during Summer is a great idea. Otherwise, if you don't have a cooler it's OK, we have buckets onboard to put your catch in.

Bring food & drinks for yourself. Beer is OK, no hard alchohol.

Spring / Summer

  • Sunscreen
  • Sweatshirt & Wind Breaker or Light Jacket (it can be much cooler on the water)
  • If you're bringing your own rod/reel we suggest combos such as 20-50 lb Shimano Trevala with Diawa Saltist 20H. You can bring a lighter and heavier rod to be prepared for fishing Montauk (extra rods must be stowed under the overhangs or on the top deck.)
  • If bringing your own tackle we use all of the following: 4-12 oz sinkers with 1/2 oz bucktails (like Spro) colored teasers or gulp. If bucktailing (no sinker) 2-4 oz can be used on a slower drift. We supply bank sinkers (please return them at the end of the day), 4/0 or 6/0 hooks, Spearing & Squid strips.
  • We want you to enjoy the delicious fish you catch - you can't get any fresher fish than catching it yourself! We highly recommend bringing a cooler with ice, it is a full day trip (you can purchase ice at the marina we are docked in) You can put your fish in the same cooler as your lunch/drinks - just put your fish or food in a plastic bag if you dont want to mix the two.
  • SPECIAL 12 HOUR FLUKE TRIPS will be 10 - 20 ounces of lead, be prepared with heavier tackle.

Fall / Winter

  •  Dress in layers
  • Wear boots

The Montauk Marine Basin where we are docked has a store that sells Ice, Snacks and a good selection of Tackle.
